The Saskatchewan government’s latest COVID-19 data says there are now no known active cases in the Regina area. 

Five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan Tuesday, all of them are in the far north region, bumping the total number of reported cases in the province to 573.

Two of the new cases are in the area of the village of La Loche and three others are near the village of Beauval. An outbreak was declared in Beauval earlier this month.

There are 193 known active cases as of Tuesday. There are 151 active cases in the far north region, which is unchanged from Monday, meaning some people have recovered.

There are 29 active cases in the north region, which includes the cities of Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, North Battleford and Prince Albert.

Twelve cases are active in Saskatoon and one is active in the central regions. There are no active cases in the Regina area or southern region of Saskatchewan.

The province says another 835 COVID-19 tests were processed on Monday, bringing the total number in the province to 37,695 overall.

Contact tracing has linked 139 cases in total to travel and another 295 to community contacts or mass gatherings. There are 64 cases with no known exposure and another 75 still being investigated.

Since March, 573 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded.  There have been 374 recoveries and six people have died.
